Live Long & Prosper, Birthday

Coin Fair

I went to the American Numismatic Association's Convention today. It was quite cool. I made $75 off of $52 face value in some old bills. My dad bought 6 Morgan dollars. We got to see the only 5 1913 nickels in existance. We got to see some funky error bills and coins. Also, interesting serial numbered bills were there. My favorite part was seeing the new paper money they're issuing in October. It's in COLOR! Anyway, my dad and I had a good time looking at stuff there. We tried to sell my huge book of foreign coins, but no one would buy. I got a price of $30 from the one guy who would buy and I thought it was low. That would roughly be $1 per pound and the metal value alone is worth more than that. All in all, it was a great day.

Dad's really sick...

He's going to the hospital. Not sure exactly what's going on. Prayer is needed.

Update: It's that dang kidney stone again. He's sleeping it off in the hospital, pumped full of pain meds while they're waiting to get a CAT scan.

Update #2: They're putting a sting in him. Surgery is scheduled for 9:30 AM EST.

Update #3: Surgery got bumped back to 10 AM, but it went well. He's not good but he IS improving.
