Quark, Thinking

The future of Trek actors?

For a while, I've known that Kate Mulgrew (Janeway on Voyager) was the voice at the end of the Ford Windstar commercials. Just today, I realized that Patrick Stewart (Picard on TNG) was doing the voice on the Crestor commercials. Is this just the beginning of Trek actors being stuck in commercials for the rest of their lives?

Book review

Well, Vortex was quite a good read. I easily got over all the profanity, but I should warn that it's nowhere near acceptable to leave lying around near kids. (One of the main character's standard exclamations was "F*** a duck!") It's a great read for those Sci-Fi types who like suspense and intrigue, though the scientific stuff doesn't play much more than a background factor until the end. There were a couple of loose ends I thought needed tying up, but it was left sort of like Star Trek II: can easily be the end, but can also turn into a sequel, if enough of a fan-base is picked up.

Well, I'm onto the first Wheel of Time book, which is The Eye of the World. It's a big fat book, but it looks interesting enough to go through.

Hrm...

Stereo's acting wonky. *goes to investigate*

Edit: I didn't do anything, but it's better. Seems to have fixed itself.
